THE CAR

The original car to start the project with is always a rust free and straight car, as complete as possible to guaranty the originality of some important parts, such as the interior wood panels or the bumpers which could be a lower quality when remanufactured. Cars are sourced in California or other favorable dry climates (lack of salt used on roads during winter)..                                                                                           

THE RESTORATION  

The full restoration process will take 10 to 12 months and a total of 1.500 to 2.000 hours of labour of the various craftmen (Body worker, Painter, Mechanic, Electrician, Veneerer, Trimmer ...).

In Auto Storica we do have all these craftmen in our own staff team and the restorations are run without any subcontract. This way the step by step quality control is optimized and we can fully guaranty the final result.

It starts with a meticulous stripping of the whole car until the body shell and/or chassis.

Chassis : Verifying of alignments and torsions. Fully sandblasted, back to bare metal. New rust-proofing treatment, epoxy painted.  

  

Body shell : Sandblasted and removing of all old paint and rust, back to bare metal, panel work where necessary, new rust-proofing treatment, two pack material painting, hand polishing.

   

Chromes : High quality 3 step chrome process

Body seal   :  All new as well as all grommets.

 

Interior woodwork   :  New high quality veneer/polish.

Trimming All new with A-grade hides, new headlining, seat foam kits and wool carpets, modern materials for sound insulation

 

     

 

Hood and weather equipments : All in mohair ( 7 colors available)

Electrical and wiring:  New wiring loom, "Lumenition" electronic ignition, Electric fan kit  , modern type HP fuel pump Facet" o “SU”.

Suspension : Front and rear suspension fully rebuilt. All parts sand blasted and treated. New Koni or Spax shock absorber s. Full optical alignment.

                      

Brakes Fully rebuilt, new pistons, master cylinders, pump, disc ... Up-rated on request.

                   

Gearbox/Transmission : Fully rebuilt with new pinions, U joint ...

Steering: Fully rebuilt, powered on request.

Exhaust : New High Quality Stainless Steel system             

Wheels : New chrome quality wire wheel. New Avon or Dunlop tires.

Engine : Complete strip down, thorough cleaning and inspection. Remanufactured to Manufacturer Standard. Cooling system pressure tested. Fully balanced. Unleaded fuel conversion.
